The King Abdullah II Fund for Development is launched the fourth cycle of the "Parliamentary Fellowship Project," in line with His Majesty's vision for political empowerment of youth.
The project is implemented through practical programs that involve familiarizing participants with the legislative and oversight roles of the House of Representatives.
The project's primary service to youth takes the form of integrating beneficiaries into political life by assigning them as research assistants to members of Parliament (MPs, they undertake the task of researching and providing supportive information on draft laws or issues being discussed under the Dome.
Furthermore, the project seeks to cultivate young leaders capable of driving change by increasing their awareness of various national issues and challenges, expanding youth participation, and providing them with practical training in legislative and oversight institutions.
The project targets youth aged 20 to 30 years old. Applications for participation in the project can be submitted through https://join.kafd.jo from June 8th to June 23rd.
Selection of young men and women from all governorates of the Kingdom will be conducted through personal interviews, followed by theoretical training on subjects such as political and parliamentary life in Jordan, political and legal research, human rights, policy paper preparation, political media and communication skills, as well as partisan and parliamentary work. Practical training will also be provided within the upcoming ordinary session of the Lower House.
It is worth mentioning that the first cycle of the Fellowship Project with the Lower House was launched in 2019, and its competency was expanded in the second phase to become the "Parliamentary Fellowship Project." In the previous cycles, 320 young men and women have participated in theoretical training, and 229 individuals engaged in practical training within the House. A training manual for the project has been developed and deposited at the National Library.
