The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has announced that it has granted financial support to 10 political initiatives through its "Tamkeen" project, aimed at enhancing and serving the nationwide political modernization scheme in collaboration with civil society institutions.
The project received 102 applications, of which 31 qualified for the interview stage before the 10 winning projects were selected and announced.
The winning initiatives target several key areas: systematically understanding the actual distribution of parties and party alliances in the Jordanian arena, in addition to enhancing the parties' abilities to use digital media and produce content that helps promote their goals.
The projects also aim to provide university female students with the necessary skills for leadership and participation in decision-making, as well as enabling them to engage effectively in political party action. Additionally, the projects empower youth to participate actively in political life and play a key role in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
They also include initiatives designed to empower female leaders who plan to run for elections to hone their public speaking skills, and enable them to garner voter support in the three regions of the Kingdom and contribute to the advancement of developmental programs that promote the public good.
The winning projects were selected by a technical committee, following an evaluation process based on predetermined conditions and criteria.
The "Tamkeen" project to support political initiatives was launched at the beginning of 2024, coinciding with His Majesty the King's Silver Jubilee and aligning with the political modernization process. It aims to enhance community political awareness and foster an environment that nurtures youth leadership, equipping young Jordanians with the tools necessary for effective political participation.
