Applications Now Open for the 20th Cycle of KAFD’s Undergraduate Research & Innovation Support Project

In a bid to invest in youth as a driving force for society development and advancement of applicable scientific solutions, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has announced the launch of the 20th cycle of the Undergraduate Research & Innovation Support Project (RISP).

The project provides both technical and financial support to enable university students to excel, innovate, and implement their graduation projects in collaboration with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB).

Eligible projects or research must be innovative, applicable, and sustainable, with potential to result in patents or contribute to solving local community challenges, thus fostering a productive and engaged society in the field of science and education.

Projects will be selected based on two main categories: independent research determined by professors in collaboration with their students, and projects proposed by JODDB. The selected projects will receive financial support of up to JD5,000, as well as technical assistance to ensure successful implementation and achievement of the intended goals.

University students can submit their applications via the link: https://join.kafd.jo/ through November 14, 2024, under specific terms and conditions.

RISP was launched in 2004 to encourage positive competition among university students, providing a motivational boost to enhance their scientific and practical skills. To date, the project has supported 386 graduation project ideas, benefiting approximately 2,000 students.
