King Abdullah II Fund for Development Launches the 7th Cycle of the Parliamentary Fellowship Program (PFP)

The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched the seventh cycle of the Parliamentary Fellowship Program (PFP), implemented in partnership with the Parliament of Jordan, with the aim of politically empowering Jordanian youth and enhancing their participation in public life by providing them with practical experience that enables them to gain a deeper understanding of parliamentary work.
KAFD Director General, Dr. Samer Mofleh, said that the Parliamentary Fellowship Program embodies His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision for empowering Jordanian youth politically through practical programs that contribute to preparing qualified young leaders capable of playing an active role in the Kingdom’s political modernization process.
He added that the program offers participants direct exposure to the legislative and oversight roles of the Parliament by serving as research assistants within both chambers of the Parliament—the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Dr. Mofleh emphasized that KAFD remains committed to continuously developing the program in line with the State’s political modernization priorities, while equipping young people with the knowledge and tools needed to better understand parliamentary work and promote a culture of political and partisan participation.
The current cycle introduces enhanced training modules aligned with the requirements of parliamentary and political work through a comprehensive program that combines theoretical instruction with practical application. Participants will undertake two months of theoretical training covering specialized topics, including communication skills, political and digital media, political and parliamentary affairs, situation assessment paper preparation, and political and legal research using artificial intelligence tools. This will be followed by field training within the Parliament during the regular session of the House of Representatives, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the legislative and oversight process.
The program targets Jordanian youth aged 22–30. The selection process consists of several stages, including an online assessment and personal interviews conducted by a specialized committee. Participants will be selected from across all governorates of the Kingdom, with 30% of the cohort allocated to members of political parties.
KAFD invited interested young people to submit their applications between 5 and 15 July through the online registration platform, where they can review the eligibility criteria, participation requirements, and application procedures.
Since its launch in 2019, the Parliamentary Fellowship Program has benefited 460 young men and women, reflecting its impact in preparing capable young leaders equipped to actively participate in Jordan’s political and public life.
