King Abdullah II Fund for Development Launches a New Cycle of the “Tariqi” Project

The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched a new cycle of its Tariqi project, which aims to enhance the competitiveness and employability of Jordanian youth across diverse and promising sectors aligned with labour market needs. The project achieves this by developing participants’ life, employability, and technical skills, while providing on-the-job training opportunities within host companies that ultimately lead to employment.
This year’s training tracks begin with one of the fastest-growing and most promising digital sectors: AI-powered User Experience and User Interface Design (UX/UI Design powered by AI). The track aims to equip young people with the technical and professional skills required by today’s labour market and strengthen their readiness to pursue employment opportunities.
Dr. Samer Mofleh, Director General of KAFD, affirmed that the Fund continues to invest in Jordanian youth through the implementation of high-quality programmes that respond to current and future labour market demands. He noted that these initiatives contribute to enhancing young people’s professional and technical capabilities, strengthening their competitiveness, and enabling them to secure quality employment opportunities in high-growth sectors, in line with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision, which places strong emphasis on investing in human capital and preparing a skilled national workforce capable of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving labour market.
Dr. Mofleh added that Tariqi will continue throughout this year by delivering four training tracks across a range of promising sectors selected based on labour market needs and the requirements of future jobs.
The current track targets graduates in Graphic Design, Design and Visual Communication, Computer Science, and Software Engineering between the ages of 21 and 27 from all governorates across Jordan. Participants will undertake a comprehensive learning journey that includes life skills development, specialised technical training in AI-powered User Experience and User Interface Design (UX/UI), in addition to On-the-Job Training (OJT) within host companies, enhancing their employability and expanding their opportunities to secure jobs in this vital sector.
Tariqi is one of KAFD’s strategic projects, implemented in partnership with The King’s Trust International (KTI) and through the Business Development Center (BDC) since 2015.
Since its launch, the project has trained 1,124 young men and women, with 596 participants successfully securing employment opportunities, reflecting its tangible impact in empowering Jordanian youth, aligning training with labour market needs, and improving employment outcomes across various sectors.
